Welcome to Şefs. By using our platform, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using Şefs's website, app, or services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use our services.
2. Description of service
Şefs is a marketplace connecting customers with home cooks who prepare meals and independent delivery partners who deliver them. We facilitate discovery, ordering, and payment. Cooking is performed by independent home cooks ("Şefs"); last-mile delivery may be performed by Şefs or approved Delivery Partners, each in accordance with our Community Guidelines and these Terms.
3. Account and eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use our services. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
4. Orders and payments
When you place an order, you agree to pay the stated price plus any applicable taxes and delivery fees. Payment is processed at checkout. Refunds and cancellations are subject to our cancellation policy and the Şef's availability.
5. User conduct
You agree to use the platform lawfully and in line with our Community Guidelines. You may not harass others, post false information, or misuse the service. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
6. Delivery partners
This section applies if you apply for, are approved for, or perform meal deliveries through Şefs as an independent delivery partner or delivery person ("Delivery Partner"). By accepting assignments or using delivery-partner tools, you agree to these terms in addition to our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines.
Delivery Partners are independent contractors, not employees, agents, or partners of Şefs. You are responsible for your own taxes, vehicle, fuel, phone/data costs, and compliance with applicable traffic, labour, and commercial laws in your area.
You must be at least 18 years old, legally allowed to work as a delivery partner in India, and able to provide valid government ID and contact details. We may require a smartphone with data, a roadworthy vehicle (two-wheeler or other mode we approve), and proof of address. Background or reference checks may be required before or during onboarding.
You must handle food safely: use clean, insulated bags or containers as we specify; keep hot and cold items separated; do not open, taste, or tamper with sealed orders; and report spills, damage, or temperature concerns to Şefs and the Şef immediately. Do not deliver if you are ill or if safe delivery is not possible.
When you accept an assignment, you agree to pick up and deliver within the assigned time window, follow in-app directions, confirm delivery only when the order reaches the correct customer or authorised recipient, and communicate delays promptly through the platform. You must treat customers, Şefs, and building staff respectfully and must not solicit off-platform business or accept cash unless explicitly authorised by Şefs.
Earnings, incentives, and any tips are shown in your delivery partner account or as communicated by Şefs. Payout timing and methods may vary; we may withhold or adjust amounts for verified order issues, fraud, or policy violations. You are responsible for reporting income and paying applicable taxes.
We may suspend or deactivate delivery access at any time for missed or unsafe deliveries, misrepresentation, harassment, tampering with orders, use of unauthorised substitutes, failure to pass checks, or breach of these Terms or the Community Guidelines. You may stop delivering at any time by notifying us and completing outstanding assignments where reasonably possible.
7. Intellectual property
Şefs and its logos, design, and content are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, or use them without our written permission.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Şefs is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform or from food prepared by Şefs. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the order in question.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
